Gemvara Disney Princess Inspired Engagement Rings

Sunday, December 21, 2014

I happened to stumble upon these gorgeous Disney Princess inspired Engagement rings from Gemvara. Gemvara lets you customize your own jewelry in their Design creator, and someone decided to get creative and came up with these stunning Disney Princess-themed rings. All of these are incredibly gorgeous and will definitely leave you wanting one. Click the pictures to check them out at Gemvara's Website.

My favorite out of these desings is the Rapunzel one. Which one is your fav?

I never heard about Gemvara up until now and since the rings and designs I've seen so far are absolutely gorgeous I just had to take a closer look at what they have to offer. Every single one of their rings and jewelry is just stunning, and like I mentioned before you can design your very own ring exactly the way you want it to be which is very neat. I definitely know where I will want to get my eventual future engagement ring now! (^_-)

[Review] Etude House Drawing Show Brush Eyeliner

Saturday, December 20, 2014

"Brush pen eyeliner conveniently produces smooth, clean lines for stark definition."
SAM_3891

Packaging & Design
The box this eyeliner comes in is very cute. The eyeliner itself is just plain black with the name written in pink on it; very simple yet convenient, and also noticeably light-weight. It's a little plain but I really don't mind simplicity. The lid has some sort of spring inside of it which I assume contributes to the lid being able to close securely and protect the brush. Just like most eyeliners of its kind it also has this little 'mechanism' inside of it that moves around when you shake it, for bringing out the color, I assume.

Texture
The formula feels very thin and light-weight. It originally has a nice consistency which is neither too dry nor too wet. However, it does feel a little dry when applying it over eyeshadow, powder, etc. but this is the exact same thing that I have experienced with any other felt-tip type eyeliners.

SAM_3969    SAM_3975

Color & Intensity
The intensity of the black is really nice and highly pigmented with a slightly shiny finish. However, it's not quite as pigmented as Etude House's Oh~ m'Eye Line. There's really not much more to it.

Application & Precision
The brush is relatively soft, very easy to control and the application goes very smoothly. I like to keep my eyeliner quite thick but making it thinner closer to the inner corner of my eye, and as you can see in the picture above, this eyeliner allowed me to go extremely thin where I wanted it to. It does look a little bit shaky at certain parts but, again, it's really only because of the eyeshadow being 'in the way'. The application and precision is actually the very best part of this eyeliner. It's excellent for creating thin and detailed lines and/or for filling in small spaces.

A downside about felt-tip type eyeliners is that the makeup product(s) you wear underneath it easily gets stuck in the brush which also happens with this eyeliner, but it recovers surprisingly quickly and feels as good as new every time I use it. It's not really a big issue here. The only thing I'd do is to gently wipe the brush every once in a while just to be sure.

SAM_3904

Lastability
Once the eyeliner has set, it doesn't budge at all and lasts all day. However, I did a test on the back of my hand by applynig the eyeliner, waited for it to set, and then did a 'smudge' test by trying to smudge it out with my finger and what happened was that it faded quite a bit, it didn't smudge, but the intensity just got a lot weaker. I'm thinking that the intensity of this eyeliner might fade under certain circumstances, but I haven't experienced this problem myself yet. It is also not waterproof at all but if you look at it from the bright side it is incredibly easy to wash off when I remove my makeup which is a huge plus for me.

SAM_3974   SAM_3896

Overall
The Drawing Show Brush Liner is an amazing eyeliner which allows you to create extremely thin and pigmented lines.
I recently did a review on the Oh~ m'Eye Line, so I just want to make a quick comparison since they're quite similar. I would say that the biggest differences between the two is that the Drawing Show Brush Liner allows you to make thinner lines and is easier to use but isn't quite as dark and the intensity doesn't last as long as the Oh~ m'Eye Line. However, it's really convenient to bring with you for re-applying it anywhere at any time. Both of the eyeliners are great and I really can't decide which one I like more. If you're considering to get either of them, I recommend you to read both of my reviews and compare them.

For me, the biggest advantage with this eyeliner is that it allows me to have complete control of the thickness of the lines which is especially important to me since I have hooded eyelids and have to keep my eyeliner very thin at certain parts to avoid making my already small crease appear even smaller. Plus, it's easy to remove when removing my makeup which actually is a big plus for me since I really dislike products that just won't come off!

I highly recommend it especially to those who want an eyeliner that is easy to use and has excellent precision. It's also highly pigmented and is convenient for fixing your makeup on-the-go (which might be necessary if you want to keep the intensity).

New Nails - Working with Acrylic for the first time

Monday, December 15, 2014

Hello, lovelies! Before I start talking about Acrylic Nails, let me just tell you a little about my experience with the method I've previously used for doing my Nail Extensions, which is Gel. I started getting my Nail Extensions done at Professional Salons (whom mainly use Gel) about 2 years ago, and I bought my own equipment and have been working with Gel Nails for about 1 year now. However, whatever I do or wherever I got them done they kept breaking and/or falling off after just a couple of days. So after doing some research on another popular method, Acrylic Nails, and watching a bunch of tutorials on Youtube, I decided to get the basic products I need to make Acrylic Nails and tried it for the first time about a week ago.

I used clear Acrylic only for building the nails and went for a simple design - Black with purple glitter accents. Topped it off with a UV Gel Coat.

SAM_3962    SAM_3963

Working with Acrylic was a little tricky at first but I got the hang of it after doing a couple of nails, but my technique is still far from perfect. The result didn't differ much from when I did gel nails for the first time, but I have to say that the result is pretty damn good for being my first time working with Acrylic. I'm so glad that I decided to try Acrylic since they last so much better than Gel Nails! I've had them for about a week now and they're still as good as new, and I don't think they'll be breaking anytime soon. Unlike when I have Gel Nails, there are no cracks, no lifting - Nothing. I will definitely completely switch to Acrylic Nails from now on, but at least I will still have use for the UV Lamp that I originally got for working with Gel Nails.

I could talk forever about the differences between Gel Nails and Acrylic Nails since both have their pros and cons, but I will save that for another post since I feel like I've already been ranting on about this for too long.

Thank you for reading! Let me know what you think in the comments.
Bye for now, lovelies!

[Review] Etude House Oh~ m'Eye Line #01 Black

Saturday, December 13, 2014

Hello, lovelies. This review turned out to be kind of short, but there's really not much more to say about this eyeliner than how good it eyeliner is. Keep on reading and you will understand why I like this eyeliner so much.

Oh~ m'Eye Line
"This highly pigmented, smudge-proof liquid liner goes on smoothly for precise application and creates strong, beautiful lines that last."
SAM_3910

Packaging
This eyeliner doesn't come in any kind of box, but just as it is. It's a plain plastic bottle with a long screw-on lid. I usually like simplicity with a touch of fancy when it comes to makeup products, but the design of this one is a little too plain in my opinion.

Color & Intensity
Like the description of this eyeliner says, this is indeed a highly pigmented eyeliner. The color is a brilliant deep black, and once it has dried it has a slightly glossy look.

SAM_3868    SAM_3862

Application & Precision
The brush of this eyeliner is very thin, and it allows you to create very beatiful and clean lines. However, It's a little harder to make very fine lines since it doesn't get thinner at the tip and is very water at first.

SAM_3874

Texture
Like I said, the texture is very watery at first but dries quite fast. It feels a little sticky and strange when applying it to a large area (when doing bold and/or winged liners) but the feeling ceases after a few minutes.

SAM_3867    SAM_3881

Lastability
As soon as this eyeliner has set, It doesn't smudge a single bit! It's completely waterproof and it's actually quite difficult to remove even with makeup remover. I find this a little bothersome, but hey, at least it's proof of that it really does last. During the process of washing it off It doesn't bleed at all, but rather turns into some kind of film and flakes when exposed to a combination of water and gentle rubbing, so you kinda have to peel it off in the process of removing your makeup.
Overall
To be honest, I didn't except much from this liner because of the low price and the plain design of the bottle, but I'm extremely impressed since the performance and quality was much better than I could imagine. This simply is an amazing eyeliner and It definitely keeps the things it claims to do. The few "Cons" I found about this eyeliner are really nothing compared to how great it is. I highly recommend this one to those who are looking for an eyeliner that allows you to create sharp and clean lines with a deep black and bold look.

[Review] Etude House Proof 10 Auto Pencil BK801

Thursday, December 11, 2014

Hello, lovelies! I was allowed to choose anything I want from my lovely sponsor, W2Beauty.com, so I decided to stack up on some eyeliners that I've been curious about. I got myself the Etude House Proof 10 Auto Pencil, Oh~m'Eye Line and Drawing Show Brush Liner. I will review all 3 of them in separate posts.

Proof 10 Auto Pencil
"Proof 10's water-proof eye pencil supplies clean, intense definition for a long lasting, perfect 10 smoky eye look. Comes with sharpener for fine line application."
SAM_3901

Packaging & Design
This is an Automatic pencil liner just like any other eyeliner of its kind. The thing that is special about this one is that it includes a built in sharpener at the bottom end of the pencil which is very neat.

SAM_3903    SAM_3915

Color & Intensity
The color is quite weak at the first stroke, but It's buildable. The intensity of the black is quite nice once you give it a few strokes, but It's not as intense as I would want an eyeliner to be. I personally don't want to go over my eyeliner several times to achieve a decent color intensity.

SAM_3810    SAM_3828

Texture
The texture is surprisingly creamy and smooth for being a pencil liner. I find most pencil liners very hard to apply due to the dry consistency, but this one goes on very smoothly. But due to its softness it actually breaks quite easily unless you are careful and only "roll out" a small part when using it.

Precision
The precision is very nice since you can create quite sharp and clean lines if you sharpen it with the included sharpener. This is great since it allows you to fill in even the smallest spaces when you tightline your lashline or just want to create a very subtle eyeliner for a natural look. However, I somehow feel that you will lose a lot of product of you have to keep sharpening it all the time.

SAM_3824    SAM_3829
(After sharpening it - 1 Stroke, 2 Strokes, 3 Strokes and 4 Strokes).

Lastability
This liner is very easy to smudge out, but it doesn't budge a single bit when coming in contact with water. It stays in place when I wear it throughout the day, but despite that, once I start to remove my eye makeup it comes off very easily. I really like it when a makeup product lasts when wearing it but comes off easily when I remove my makeup at the end of the day. It's definitely a 100% percent waterproof, but if you accidentally come in contact with it by, for example, curling your eyelashes or rubbing your eyes, it will come right off.

Overall
I'm personally not a big fan of smoky eyes and I prefer to use a gel liner when I tightline my lashline, but I figured that this will be great for me to use underneath another eyeliner to make it last longer. I think this Eyeliner is more suited for those who actually want to achieve natural or smoky eye makeup looks since the color isn't very intense unless you really build it up and it's easy to smudge out. What I really liked the most about it was that it's so smooth and easy to apply and the built-in sharpener. It's really a great eyeliner and I will definitely keep using it.

[Review] Mizon All-in-one Snail Repair Cream

Wednesday, December 3, 2014

Hello, lovelies! I heard a lot of good things about this cream (and creams that contain snail extract in general), and since I needed a new moisturizing cream I decided to give this one a try. Let's take a closer look at this product.

SAM_2897

Description
What it Claims: "92% of snail extracts repairs fine scars from skin troubles and wrinkles.Various plant extracts help skin to keep healthy by rich moisturizing, nourishing and protecting skin."
So, this cream claims to repair acne scar, improve wrinkles, large pores, even out dark skin tones, easy irritated skin, and help the skin to keep healthy and moisturized. That's a lot of claims!

Main components: Snail Secretion 92%, Centella Asiatica, Adenosine, Peptide, β-glucan, Green Tea Extract, Hysluronic Acid, Betula Platyphylla Japonica Juice, Dimethicone, Portulaca Oleracea Extract, Hydrogented Vegetable Oil

What is snail slime extract? Snail slime is a source of copper peptides. Most of the research on copper peptides relates to wound healing and there is supposedly a large base of evidence that the same magical effects can repair wrinkles.

How to Use: Apply a proper amount to face. Rub and pat gently for complete absorbation.

SAM_2872

Packaging & Container
This cream comes in a fancy metallic bronze-colored box. The container itself is a solid (and quite heavy) glass container with a plastic screw-on lid.

SAM_2877    SAM_2884
(Pic to the left) When first opening it, there was another thin plastic lid for protection.

SAM_2885
It doesn't come with a Spatula, but you can easily get a pack for a low price on eBay (like the one in the picture above).

Texture & Scent
The texture is quite slimy and watery, but it's actually surprisingly pleasant! It goes on really smoothly when applying it to the face. It simply feels like a slimy layer of moisture, which does leave a slightly sticky feeling at first, but it quickly absorbs into my skin. This product doesn't seem to be artificially perfumed. I can feel a faint scent of something when I really try, but it's barely there! I don't mind scented products, but I definitely also like when they're not scented at all since it gives a me a feeling that the product is more natural and gentle on the skin.

SAM_3100    SAM_3102

Results & Opinion
My skin type is usually oily, but in Winter it turns into combination skin; Very dry overall, but still oily in the T-Zone. Because of this, it is essential for me to keep my skin moisturized while keeping my skin from breaking out, especially during winter. I have used this cream every morning and night for about 2 weeks now. It gives my skin a soft and matte feeling, without making it feel neither dry nor oily. However, I don't feel like it's moisturizing enough to for me during winter. It has definitely helped to keep my occasional breakouts at bay and I can see that the faults, like dark spots and pores, in my complexion have improved. But if I use this as my only moisturizer in my morning skin care routine, my skin gets a little drier than I want it to be when I go outside during cold winter days.

This is an amazing cream and I highly recommend it to those who have oily or normal skin during all seasons, especially if you are prone to dark spots and mild acne. It will definitely work well with dry skin too, but it might not give you enough moisture when the weather is cold/dry. I would say that this is a perfect cream for everyone to use during summer or those who live where the climate is warm all year round. If you have the "right" skin type, this cream definitely keeps all what it claims.

SAM_2894
If you tried this cream, let me know what you think in the comments. If not, would you buy it? Thank you for reading this review!
Bye for now, lovelies~

My trip to Seoul, South Korea - Part 2 - Food, Bars, Clubs etc.

Tuesday, November 25, 2014

Hello, lovelies! In case you didn't know already, I went to Seoul on Vacation in June-July. I posted Part 1 quite a while ago and I totally forgot to post the other parts. But since I'm planning to go back to Seoul very soon, I figured that it's about time that I post the other parts. This part is all about Food, Bars, Clubs and more. So, here we go!

I love food and nightlife, so I guess it's not a surprise that I spent about 90% of my time in Seoul at Restaurants, Bars & Clubs. I always went out to for dinner before going out to clubs and such, so let's start with the food. I think I took more pictures of food than anything else, haha.

I went to sooo many different Restaurants and tried so much food so I can't really keep track of everything, but I'll try to tell you as much as possible.

First off, the picture to the left was taken at Dunkin' Donuts. Nothing special really, but my first time at Dunkin' Donuts was in Hongdae, Seoul and I just looove that place. The store and everything in it was so cute and neat. The toasts and the coffees are friggin amazing and since it was really close to where I lived I went there to eat breakfast almost every day.

고기구이 (or Korean BBQ) is quite famous, and since there were BBQ restaurants literally everywhere I obviously had to try it, especially since everyone I know who lives in or has visited Korea kept telling me how good it was. To be honest, I do like it but it's not exactly the best I have ever tried. I guess I had too high expectation, haha.

This dish was definitely my most favorite out of all the food I tried during my visit in Seoul. I ate a lot of this stuff! It was pretty much just spicy chicken and 떡볶이 topped off with a thick layer of cheese. I don't know if there's an actual name for this dish; I could only find it at the Izakaya I usually went to for dinner and the menu literally just said "Spicy Chicken Cheese" or something like that. Anyways, it's sooo good!

Me, Emma and Lydia went to a random restaurant and ordered this dish after a day of shopping in Myeongdong. And it was sooo good! I completely forgot what it's called, but it's basically just chicken mixed with vegetables, smothered in a sauce sent from the heavens above. Yum!

The picture to the left is from a small Restaurant in Hoegi, the place where we lived for the first 2 weeks in Seoul. It was really cozy and they let you write on post-it notes and stick them on the wall. Really cute! Can you spot the one we wrote? Hahaha.

At a street food place in Dongdaemun (I think). I'm actually pretty sure they ripped us off because the price was ridiculously high for being street food. But it was really good, so we let them get away with it.

More 고기구이!

This was at a Traditional Market (?) somewhere. Here, I tried some new food for the first time, like Chicken Feet, for example. It was actually quite crowded, very noisy and a bit dirty. It was an interesting experience but a one time-visit to a place like that is more than enough for me.

To the left, Okonomiyaki at the same Izakaya that has that delicious "Spicy Chicken Cheese" dish. This one is also reaaally good. I just love that place! I should really find out what it's called, cause I totally didn't think about actually checking the name even though I went there a lot. And to the right we have a Juicy Steak at... that famous Steak place (American, I think?). I really can't remember what it's called, haha.

I don't even remember what this thing was (I think it was some kind of seafood, and I usually love seafood), but... Now that I look at it I remember that It definitely wasn't a favorite...

Aaand some more 고기구이!

At last but not least - McDonald's! Surprisingly, McDonald's is a lot better in Seoul than it is in Sweden (I thought the same thing when I went to McDonald's in Japan). Oh, and if you didn't know - I love love love milk and I love how they have these cute little milk cartons that you can get at almost any restaurant or grocery store, unlike Sweden.

Now let's talk about Clubs, Bars and Noraebang. Let's start with Noraebang, which is pretty much just Karaoke, but way more common and fancier in Seoul than in Sweden. To be honest, I'm not a big fan of Karaoke in general, which I guess is quite ironic since I'm a singer. The thing is that I just really need to be in the right mood and with the right people to actually enjoy it.

The left pic is from a Noraebang. Right pic is from NB2 (during the 2014 FIFA World Cup, which explains the huge ball).

The clubs in Seoul are amazing. I haven't been to very many clubs around the world (the only other country I can think of is Bangkok), but compared to Sweden It's really the best I have ever been to and It's hard for me to imagine a better place to go clubbing.

This picture is from M2 in Hongdae. The layout is quite plain and simple and the music wasn't the best, but I still enjoyed the couple of times I went there.

In2Deep is a Hip-Hop also located in Hongdae, introduced to us by a friend. It has a very underground feel to it, and our friend knows the bartender so that definitely came with some benefits.

Even though I went to clubs and bars almost every day, I didn't take as many pictures of inside of the clubs. I simply had way too much fun to be thinking about taking photos all the time, haha.

At last but not least, a Jazz bar in Hongdae. I think this was actually the last bar I went to before going back to Sweden. It was in the middle of the week (If I recall correctly) which is why it was pretty much empty. However, the music was really nice and the place was just so cozy. I went to a lot of other small bars too, but I really can't remember the names of any of them...

Except the ones I already mentioned, I also went to NB2, Club Cocoon, Club Vera and Ho Bar in Hongdae, and NB2 and The Answer in Gangnamn. Actually, all of the clubs are nice in their own way, but my favorite club out of all the clubs I visited was definitely NB2 in Hongdae. There were always a lot of people every day of the week at every hour. It has two floors with one bar at each one. The music is amazing which usually is a mix of hip hop and dance/house. A lot of people there, including the bartenders, were really cool and it was easy to actually meet people there. I just loved it!

Click here to read Part 1 of my trip to Seoul where I told you about my first impressions, some exploring and Shopping.

Thank you for reading! Feel free to ask me anything about my trip to Seoul. I might have left some things out, so I'll be more than happy to ease your curiosity.
Bye for now, lovelies!
