[Review] Cosplay Wig - Bleach - Kuchiki Byakuya - Sponsored by UNIQSO

Sunday, May 24, 2015

Hi, lovelies! Like I mentioned in the Seashell Sclera Lenses review I did a while ago, I really wanted to dress up as Tomie last halloween, and UNIQSO was very kind to sponsor me with the Sclera Lenses and this Kuchiki Byakuya (Bleach) Wig. (This review doesn't have anything to do with the character. Sorry if I misled you, haha). They actually have many other black wigs to choose from that would've been much more suitable for a Tomie Cosplay, but I picked this one since I wanted to review one that didn't have a review yet. My mistake.

The texture of the hair is very dry and stiff, unlike the Lolita AG Wig which had incredibly soft and smooth hair. When I first was about to try it out on I wanted to brush it through since it was very clumped together. I always use my trustworthy wooden brush with swine bristles when I brush my wigs since this, along with brushing the hair starting from the tips and working my way up, is the most gentle and effective method to brush wigs in my opionion, but even when doing this the hair immediately started to get tangled, so I gave up halfway and just put it on the way it was. It was impossible to brush it thoroughly without me having to break the hairs to undo the knots that had formed after my attempt to brush the wig.

As you might have noticed, the wig didn't originally have bangs. I was aware of this and thought that I can just cut them myself, which I did. I managed to cut them to look decent, but for some reason even cutting the wig was troublesome.

One more thing that added to my displeasure was the weird shape of the wig (You can see it clearly on top of my head in the picture of my back). It didn't fit my head at all even though I adjusted the straps inside of the wig. There are ways to fix this and the lace cap inside of the wig usually adjusts to your head the more you wear it, but doing that would just be way too troublesome for me since I only wanted to use this wig for a Cosplay and probably never use it again after that.

Now, I always think that 'you get what you pay for', so I usually don't mind if a product has low quality if I didn't pay much (I got this wig for free, but since this is an honest review I'm thinking about it as if I bought it with my own money). However, this wig is actually quite pricey. I wouldn't have been this harsh if it was a cheap wig, but this wig is actually $25.90 which is way too overpriced considering the quality.

Just like with the Sclera Lenses, I chose this wig myself and I can't really blame my displeasure on anyone else. I was just really unlucky to choose 2 products which absolutely didn't work for me.

There's not much more to say about this wig because in all honesty I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. However, I do recommend you to check out UNIQSO's other wigs since they have so many more to choose from, and I have never ever been disappointed with any of their products, with the exception of this wig and the Sclera Lenses.

[Overview] Real Techniques Starter Set

Wednesday, May 20, 2015

Hi, lovelies! A lot of people have been raving about the Real Techniques Makeup Brushes so I decided to try them out since I have been in desperate need of replacing my old Makeup Brushes with better ones. I got myself the Real Techniques 'Starter Set' and 'Sam's Picks Set' and I absolutely love all of the brushes included. I can definitely see why these Makeup Brushes are so popular. I originally only wanted to get the 'Accent Brush' in this set and the 'Setting Brush' included in Sam's Picks to begin with, but I went ahead and got the complete sets.

Anyway, let's take a closer look at the Starter Set!

SAM_2429     SAM_2428
As you can see this set contains 5 Makeup Brushes for your eyes. This set is amazing since it has all the essential brushes you need for your eye Makeup.

SAM_2426     SAM_24262
The back of the packaging includes a short description for each brush which explains its functions and how to use it. You can even visit their website for tutorials to get the best out of your brushes. I haven't actually watched any of their tutorials yet, but I think it's really good for those who are completely new to makeup brushes or if you're a beginner with Makeup in general.

SAM_2437
Most of the Real Techniques brushes have a semi-matte metallic handle with a matte black end. The handles of these brushes are a gorgeous metallic purple which makes me love them even more since purple is my favorite color.

SAM_2432
The brushes are very balanced and lightweighted which makes them easy to use. The bristles of each of these brushes are incredibly soft, even the more stiff brow brush and accent brush are really soft. It makes the application of eye makeup really smooth and everything just glides on like a dream.

SAM_2441
The included case is a 2-in-1 case + stand which is really handy! I actually keep it standing just like in the picture above, on my desk next to my other Makeup Brushes.

SAM_2443
Like I mentioned earlier, I absolutely love these brushes! This set is definitely a must-have for Makeup Lovers. The only brush I haven't really used yet is the fine liner brush since I currently only use regular eyeliners, but I will definitely start using it when I get a new Gel Liner.

I wanted to include an overview of the 'Sam's Picks' in this post too, but I realized that this post would become way too long with way too many pictures If I did that, so I'm going to make another Overview of the Sam's Picks Set in another post.

Do you have any of the Real Techniques Makeup Brushes? If you don't, would you like to try them? Let me know in the comments!

Thanks for reading and bye for now lovelies.

[Review] Super Pinky Green - Sponsored by PinkyParadise

Saturday, May 16, 2015

Hi, lovelies! I'm back with another review. This time I'm making a review of the Super Pinky Green Circle Lenses which were kindly sponsored by PinkyParadise. I've previously made a review of the Violet lenses in this series (and I'm also doing a review on the Grey ones soon), and I absolutely loved them. I was so excited about trying these out since I've been looking for a pair of green lenses that would blend with my naturally green eyes and live up to the rest of my criteria for Circle Lenses. These didn't let me down so you should definitely keep reading if you've been looking for a pair of gorgeous green circle lenses just like I did.

SAM_3135

Color: The color of these lenses is a very balanced and pretty shade of green. I prefer a natural look when it comes to green lenses. Many green lenses have a really strong blue hue to them which I think looks very unnatural, but the green color of these lenses is just right, even though I originally hoped that they would be more on the warm/yellow side like they are portrayed.

Design: The design is gorgeous. When looking closely at them you can see that they have a speckled pattern which kind of gives the eyes a reptile/feline look, but it actually looks more natural in real life and if you look from a little further away. I also love that the limbal ring is quite light and blends together with the rest of the lens in a 'spiked' pattern. The only thing I don't really like is the sharp edge at the inner part. However, these lenses in particular still blend in very well with my natural iris since the color is similar, but the inner edge will be really clear if anyone with blue or brown eyes wears them which can look quite unnatural.

Enlargement: I personally prefer lenses that are on the large side, and the enlarging effect of these 15.0mm lenses is just perfect. As usual I don't have much to add to this particular category. Circle Lenses don't come in that many different sizes - They either give you a small, decent or huge enlarging effect. Simple as that. However, pictures say so much more than words, so I should probably start taking 'before and after' pictures for my future reviews.

Comfort: These lenses are very comfortable and I can barely feel that I'm wearing lenses at all for the first couple of hours of wearing them. It's completely normal that your eyes get a little dry and tired when wearing circle lenses for a long time, but it feels like I can't wear these for as long as I can wear some other circle lenses. They don't make my eyes feel dry or anything, but for some reason they just make my eyes really sensitive when wearing them for a longer period of time.

Time for a super size selfie!

Overall: The Super Pinky Circle Lenses are one of my favorite series. I haven't tried all of them, but I have them in Violet and Grey too. They don't look very natural on my eyes unlike these Green ones, but I still absolutely love them too. The green ones have become my favorite since they're the only ones that actually blend really well with my natural iris. I don't really mind if the natural iris shines through a pair of lenses as long as the design allows them to blend in well, but if you want to get these lenses and want it to look as natural as possible, I recommend you to get them in the color closest to your natural eye color. I highly recommend the Super Pinky Lenses in general, but I recommend these lenses in particular to people with green or hazel eyes that want a good enlarging effect. The design and color is gorgeous and they will blend in seamlessly if you have green eyes, despite the sharp inner edge. Like I mentioned earlier, they have a very nice and balanced color which I personally think is pretty hard to come by when it comes to green circle lenses.

Retro 'Negative Space' Nails

Friday, May 15, 2015

Hi, lovelies! 'Negative Space' nails are trending this S/S season. I've seen this nail trend around many times before but I never actually tried it until now. I tried out a design based on a lot of great inspiration I found online and I'm pretty happy with the result.

SAM_4373

This type of design or any other 'Negative Space' nail art is definitely a look you have to do on naturally long nails or nail extensions with Gel or Acrylic nails if you want it to look good. It looks a little bit silly since these are only fake nails and you can see the edge of my real nails in some places, but it's always good to try out nail art ideas on fake nails before settling on a design for your nail extensions (unless you already have relatively long nails).

SAM_4385

I'm really fond of 'Negative Space' nail designs and I have many more ideas for designs that I want to try out. What do you think about this nail trend? Yay or Nay?

[Haul] Korean Skin Care & Make Up - Innisfree, Nature Republic, Etude House & MISSHA

Wednesday, May 13, 2015

Hi, lovelies! I went ahead and got myself a bunch of Korean Skincare Products and Makeup that I've wanted to try for a really long time. I've only been using all of the Skincare products for a couple of weeks, so for now I will just share my thoughts about these products and why I got them in the first place. I want to give all of them a couple of weeks more before I do full reviews, but I can already say that I'm really happy with each and every product I purchased.
SAM_3200

MISSHA Time Revolution The First Treatment Essence Intensive
Out of all of the products I got this time, this is the one that I've wanted to get for the longest time. I've never used an essence in my skincare routine up until now, and since I heard so many good things and read so many positive reviews about this one I just had to try it out.

MISSHA Time Revolution Night Repair Ampoule
This is also a product that I wanted to try for a long time along with the Treatment Essence. I wanted this one especially since I had previously only used 3 products in my evening skin care routine which is nothing compared to my morning routine where I use at least 5 products.

Innisfree The Green Tea Seed Oil
All of the products I got have proven to be absolutely amazing, but so far this is my favorite. It has helped me to achieve a moisturized and glowing complexion, something that I have been yearning after for a long time. I've already done a full review of this oil, so feel free to check it out.

Innisfree Eco Safety Daily Sunblock SPF35 PA++
I really had to get a new sunblock and at first I was thinking about getting another version of this sunscreen which was meant for oily skin types. However, a lot of people claimed that it had made their skin feel dry which is a red flag for me, so I just went with the regular version instead. I don't regret it!

Innisfree Mineral Moisture Foundation SPF34 PA++ Warm Tone W1
I'm always on a lookout for new BB Creams and Foundations since I still haven't found 'the one'. The Base makeup Products I'm using now are great and all, but they lack in either coverage or don't suit my skin tone. Unfortunately, this one was no exception. It has great coverage and is moisturizing just as it promises, and It is quite close to the perfect shade for me, but still not a 100%.

Innisfree No-Sebum Mineral Powder
I'm not a big fan of powder at all since I just don't think that I need it for my base makeup. I love glowing makeup and my skin easily gets cakey and dry if I use powder. However, I realized that I do get a little bit oily in some areas at the end of the day, so I got this transparent powder that supposedly controls sebum to use it as a setting powder for my T-Zone.

Nature Republic Soothing & Moisture 92% Aloe Vera Soothing Gel
This was kind of an impulse purchase. I was watching a haul video on Youtube where this product was mentioned and got a lot of praise, so I decided to give it a try.

Etude House Aloe Moistfull Soothing Mist
This is also a product that I wanted to try for a long time but I never actually bought it until now. I really like it and use it a lot, but I don't think that a face mist is an essential product to include in my skin care routine (which is why I didn't get it earlier). It's more like an additional thing I wanted to add/try just because I can, but it's also great to use between foundation layers when touching up my base makeup.

Etude House Lash Perm 3Step Volumecara & Curling
I previously used the pink Etude House Lash Perm 3Step Volumecara and since I absolutely loved it I was really curious about this one. It's exactly the same as the Pink one, except this has a curved mascara brush that is supposed to give your eyelashes more volume. It definitely keeps what it promises!

I have really come to like each and every single one of these products and I want to say so much more about them, but like I mentioned at the beginning of this post, I will save that for the future reviews. So stay tuned! Anyhow. Are you using any of these products or would you like to try any of them? Feel free to let me know in the comments!
Thanks for reading and bye for now, lovelies!
