Smokey Purple Makeup

Tuesday, March 21, 2017

Hello, dreamers! I recently got myself a bunch of liquid lipsticks, one of them being the Velour Liquid Lipstick in Scorpio by Jeffree Star Cosmetics. This is my first time trying liquid lipsticks, and to no surprise, I absolutely love it! I liked this color so much that I went ahead and did a look to go with it. This is what I went for! It's basically just a simple smoky purple look to go with the lipstick. I even had a nail polish that matched this look perfectly. Every makeup product I used for this look, except the velour lipstick, is from Etude House.

I'm really digging this look so I might do a tutorial on it as well. I haven't really been able to play around with makeup these days, so I was really excited to try something a little bit new.
In any case, thank you so much for reading. Bye for now, dreamers!

[Review] Etude House All Day Fix Eyeliner #1 Black

Monday, March 20, 2017

Hello, lovelies! I was in need of a new eyeliner so I headed over to Etude Hosue to get myself a new one. I have previously used and loved the Drawing Show Brush Eyeliner, but I decided to try out this one instead since it appeared to be a new and improved version of the Drawing Show Brush Liner. This eyeliner claims to last all day without smudging. Keep reading if you want to know if I think that it keeps its promise.

Description
All day fix pen liner that completes a clear eyeline with its fine particles and super fitting adherence.

How to Apply
1. Hold pen horizontally and draw along lash line from center to outer part of eyes.
2. Slightly lift pen and draw from inner to center part of eyes.

Caution
1. Use only as directed.
2. Avoid storing in high and low temperatures and areas exposed to direct sunlight.
3. Cease use if problems arise..

Ingredients
Water, Styrene/Acrylates Copolymer, Carbon Black(Ci 77266), Butylene Glycol, Alcohol, 1,2-Hexanediol, Acrylates/Octylacrylamide Copolymer, Beheneth-30, Pentylene Glycol, Sodium Benzoate, Potassium Sorbate, Phenoxyethanol, Sodium Hydroxide, Caprylyl Glycol, Ethylhexylglycerin

Application
The application is decently smooth and easy, although you have to apply a little bit of extra pressure to create a pigmented and clean line. The tip is quite stiff (compared to the Drawing Show Brush Liner) which in my opinion makes it a bit hard to handle but it's not unmanageable, you just have to get used to it.

Lasting ability
Judging by my little smudge test below, it definitely holds up quite well. These days, I use this eyeliner every time I do my makeup and it has always lasted all day without a problem or any smudging. It's even a bit of a hassle to remove it at the end of the day when I wash off my makeup. This eyeliner is always the last thing to disappear, hah. On another occasion, I put some eyeliner on my hand just to test it out a little bit and without thinking much about it I jumped into the shower a few hours later. I washed my face, my body and my hair. When I came out of the shower the eyeliner was still on my hand and unharmed.

On another note, I've only used this during the winter when the weather is dry so I have no idea how well it will last on your eyes in humid weather. I also don't get oily on/around my eye area, so I don't know how well it would last for those who do. I read a review by a girl who had a very oily eye area and said that it didn't last for her at all. I guess the lasting ability of this eyeliner is simply case by case.

Smudge Test

First picture - The eyeliner is freshly applied and still a bit shiny because it hasn't dried yet.
Second picture - The eyeliner has dried and I slowly, with a lot of pressure, dragged my clean finger across it. It smudged a teeny tiny bit.
Third picture - I applied water to my hands (where the eyeliner was applied) and rubbed the heck out of the lines for a few seconds. I really tried to remove it. I did manage to remove quite a bit, but it is barely actually 'smudged'.

Etude Hosue All Day Fix Eyeliner vs. Drawing Show Brush Liner
The biggest difference between the two eyeliners is that the brush of this All Day Fix Eyeliner is more stiff which makes it a little bit harder to use compared to the Drawing Show Brush Eyeliner. It is also $14.40, a little pricier than the Drawing Show Brush Eyeliner which is only $11.70. The one benefit that the All Day Fix Eyeliner has over the Drawing Show Brush Eyeliner is that it lasts a little bit better and is a little bit more waterproof (from my experience). I don't own a Drawing Show Brush eyeliner anymore, so I can't show you a side by side comparison. But if you want to compare it yourself, you can check out my review of the Drawing Show Brush Eyeiner here

This is what the All Day Fix Eyeliner looks like on my eyes (used in both pictures). I used it in all of the makeup looks I've posted during the last couple of months or so, so if you want to see more pictures you can check out my Instagram.

Verdict
I read some of the reviews about this eyeliner on Etude House's global website and I was really surprised that people didn't seem to like this eyeliner at all (compared to the Drawing Show Brush Eyeliner). I personally think that its a good eyeliner and I will keep using it until I run out of it. However, I probably won't repurchase this eyeliner because of the Drawing Show Eyeliner, which is a bit cheaper and does the exact same thing (if not better) as this eyeliner. It's a good eyeliner, but the Drawing Show Brush Eyeliner is simply a slightly better choice and there are also eyeliners from other brands that are better. The one thing this eyeliner does better than the rest is that it really does last without smudging at all.

I hope you enjoyed this review. Thank you so much for reading and bye for now~

1 Day 1 Mask - Stocked up on my favorite mask sheets!

Friday, March 17, 2017

Hi, dreamers! Have you heard of the 1 Day 1 Mask beauty trend? As the name suggests, this trend or challenge (as some like to see it) is about using 1 Mask sheet every day in your skin care routine for 1 week or longer. This trend has been around for a while and I've been addicted to mask sheets ever since I first tried it, so I stocked up on some of my favorite mask sheets.

I always use Etude House's and Innisfree's mask sheets because they're super good and cheap. I love pretty much any mask sheet that contains moisturising and soothing agents, like Green Tea and Aloe mask packs, for example. I use 1 pack every night in my evening skin care routine and my skin loves it! I'm usually so dry after removing my makeup in the evening so after using my moisturising mask sheets my skin feels really refreshed.

Which is your favourite mask sheet? Please let me know in the comments, I'd love to try out some new ones!
Thank you so much for reading. Bye for now, dreamers~

[Review] Princess Pinky Gemini Day Blue Circle Lenses

Wednesday, March 15, 2017

Hello, dreamers! Today I'm reviewing the Princess Pinky Gemini Day Blue circle lenses from PinkyParadise. This is one of their new series so I'm really excited to make this review for you. Also, I'm actually a Gemini myself, so that's a fun fact! Anyway, let's take a look at these lenses, shall we?

As usual with PinkyParadise, a cute animal lens case is included with the lenses.

Lens Information
Brand: PRINCESS PINKY
Origin: South Korea
Diameter: 14.5mm
Water Content: 42%
Base Curve: 8.8mm
Life Span: 30 days / Monthly
What's Inside: One pair of lenses and one Macaron lens case

Color & Design
The design of these lenses is plain with no limbal ring. They are 1-toned and are a greyish blue color with small black speckles around the center of the lens. Many blue circle lenses I've seen and tried are a very unnatural-looking shade of blue (which isn't necessarily a bad thing, depending on what you want in a pair of lenses), but the blue color of these is very soft and looks natural. Even though the lenses look soft and sheer, they actually cover the natural eye color completely, which makes them perfect for changing/covering your eye color while still looking natural, no matter what your original eye color is.

Click here to see more pictures of these lenses (on brown eyes).

Enlargement
These lenses are 14.5mm in diameter, which usually contributes to a quite big enlarging effect. However, since the lenses have are a very light color and don't have a limbal ring, the enlarging effect is only very, very subtle.

Comfort
They are very comfortable! I can wear them all day without feeling any discomfort. But of course, at the end of the day my eyes are a little bit dry and sensitive, which is perfectly normal. You're actually not even supposed to wear circle lenses for more than 4 hours at a time.

Opinion
These lenses will change your eye color completely and still look natural no matter what your natural eye color is. I personally have to wear lenses (or glasses) on a daily basis, so I like to wear these for casual occasions. These are simply an amazing pair of lenses and I highly recommend them for anyone who wants to give their eyes a fresh and natural look.

Princess Pink Gemini Day Series Bundle

These lenses come in four beautiful colors - blue, green, brown and grey. Pinkyparadise has a bundle for this series, which means that you can get all four colors for a much better price compared to purchasing just one pair. Click here to check it out!

Thank you so much for reading. Let me know what you think in the comments. Bye for now, dreamers!

Etude House House Curl Fix Mascara Pang Pang Purple [Review & Demo] - 에뛰드 하우스 원더 펀 파크 래쉬 펌 컬 픽스 마스카라 팡팡 퍼플 [리뷰]

Tuesday, March 14, 2017

Hello, lovelies! Today I'm finally doing a review on the Etude House Curl Fix Mascara in Pang Pang Purple which I mentioned I would do in my Etude House Wonder Fun Park Overview. Let's get right to the point. First, let's have a look at the pictures from Etude House.

As you can see in the pictures, the mascaras look really pretty, both on the outside and the applied product itself.

Design
The design of this mascara is just too cute, which is one of the reasons why I got it in the first place. I absolutely love pastel colors - purple and mint is one of my favourite color combinations.

Color
The color of the mascara itself looks quite dark on the wand, but when applied it's actually a really beautiful and soft lavender color.

Application
It's very smooth and easy to apply the mascara and you can build up a nice coat of color without it becoming clumpy or messy.

Lastability
It holds up well throughout the day without smudging. Surprisingly, it's also easy to remove with makeup remover unlike the original curl fix mascara.

Unlike the original curl fix mascara which has a short and rounded wand, this mascara has a long and curved wand.

Here's a really simple look I did with the mascara. I kept the makeup very simple and natural because I wanted to put the focus on the mascara, which I only applied to the bottom lashes and the outer corner of the upper lashes.

I even made a short makeup tutorial/demonstration to show off the mascara a bit more. Check it out below!

I don't know if you can tell, but my skin was really dry when I filmed this video. It really annoyed me so I'm sorry if it bothers you too. I hope you still enjoyed my little demo/tutorial.

Overall
I've used the original Curl Fix Mascara for quite some time now and I absolutely love it in every way.  Obviously, this mascara is a bit different compared to a basic mascara because of its color. I thought that I won't be able to use it much because it would look too dramatic, but as you can see it actually creates a really sweet and soft look and it is definitely wearable for casual occasions. I really love it!

What do you think? Let me know in the comments! Thank you so much for reading/watching and bye  for now, dreamers!

Crescent Moons and Lilac Nails

Sunday, March 12, 2017

Hello, dreamers! I barely wear jewellery these days because I'm so extremely picky about design. However, I really wanted some new jewellery that I can actually wear, so I looked around online and found these two simple but beautiful crescent moon pieces, which I finally got it in the mail today. I also did my nails the same day, so here's all of it in one pic.

I'm actually really happy with these nails! I do my nails myself with acrylic and I'm still learning. It's quite difficult, so they're still not perfect, but these are definitely the best extensions I've made so far. This lilac color is also my favourite color ever. It's an especially pretty color in spring in my opinion.

What do you think of this look? Let me know in the comments!

Thank you so much for reading. Bye for now, lovelies!

[Review] EOS Bubble Gray Circle Lenses

Saturday, March 11, 2017

Hello, lovelies! In this post I will be reviewing the EOS Bubble Grey Circle Lenses from PinkyParadise. First of all, I actually got these a really long time ago but I didn't really use them and completely forgot to do a review on them. After trying them on again a few weeks ago, I fell absolutely in love with them. I have no idea why I didn't use them before! Anyway, because of these there will be a lack of pictures in this review compared to my other reviews. I hope you understand! Anyway, let's take a look at these circle lenses!

                                      Lens Information
Brand / EOS
Origin / South Korea
Diameter / 14.8mm
Base Curve / 8.8mm
Water Content / 38%
Life Span / Yearly
Prescription / -0.00 ~ -10.00
Package / Pair of Circle Contacts(2 pcs) + FREE Macaron Lens Case

Design
These lenses are 1-toned with a plain and simple design. They don't have a pattern at all, except for the slight 'spikiness' at the center of the lens which allows the lens to blend in very nicely with the natural eye color.

Color
The color of these lenses is a beautiful light grey with a cool/blue undertone. Most of the colors from the EOS Bubble series are very bright and vivid which makes them look obviously fake (which is not necessarily a bad thing), but these ones in grey have a pretty neutral tone and look very natural on light eyes, especially blue/grey eyes. They blend really well into my green eyes as well.

Ring Light

With Ring Light + Flash

Enlargement
These lenses are quite big, but because of the lack of a libel ring, the enlarging effect is not very obvious.

Comfort
They're quite comfortable despite the large diameter, but I can only wear these lenses for about 4-6 hours before my eyes start feeling a bit dry and sensitive. However, this is normal for most circle lenses.

Overall
Most of the colors in this series are very bright and vivid, which can make them look obviously fake, but I personally think that all of the different colors look very cool and mysterious on any eye color. These ones in grey are a more neutral color which makes them appear more natural-looking, especially on naturally light eyes. They blend in really well with the natural eye color and gives the eyes a beautiful, unique, and kind of vampy look, while still looking relatively natural.

On another note, I still have so many things coming up but really wanted to get this review out there because I love these lenses so much and really just wanted to show you what the look like on my eyes, so I apologise for the lack of pictures in this review. And finally, I just have to say that these are my favourite lenses right now and I wear them for pretty much every occasion. I love them very much and highly recommend them.

These lenses were kindly sponsored by PinkyParadise.com
Head over to their site to read more reviews on the EOS Bubble Grey Lenses o browse through their huge selection of other circle lenses.

Thank you so much for reading. I hope you enjoyed this review. Bye for now, lovelies!
