[Review] Luxury 114 Blue Circle Lenses

Saturday, January 28, 2017

Hello, dreamers! Today I'm going to review a pair of fun and unique lenses called Luxury 114 Blue which were kindly sponsored to me by loveshoppingholics.com. Let's take a closer look!

Information
Origin: Korea
Brand: LuxuryBabe
Diameter: 14.5 mm
Effect: 16-17mm
Water Content: 45%
Base Curve: 8.6mm
Life Span: 1 year disposal

Design & Color
These lenses come in 7 different colors, which each consist of a mix of 3 distinctive but complimentary colors (except for black and choco, which are only 2-toned). These ones in blue are a mix of blue, sky blue and pink. The blues are very vibrant, but the pink is barely visible unless you look really close. Despite the unique and vibrant color scheme of these lenses, the sheer and soft design makes them blend into the natural eye color seamlessly. It gives the eyes a very pretty and distinctive pop of color without looking weird.

Enlargement
Although these lenses are quite large in diameter (14.5mm) and claim to give you a 16-17mm effect, I don't think that the enlargement effect is very big. They definitely go outside of my natural iris, but it doesn't really make the eyes appear bigger in this case. These lenses have a very light color scheme which, in my opinion, can even make your eyes appear to be small(er). They also don't have a limbal ring which is something that strongly contributes to a big and noticeable enlarging effect in circle lenses. This is not a bad thing though! In fact, I think these kind of lenses can give your eyes a sexy and mysterious look, but if you want your eyes to appear bigger, these are probably not the lenses for you.

Left Side: No Lens, Right Side: Luxury 114 Blue

With Both Lenses

Comfort
To be honest, I've tried and reviewed so many circle lenses before and I've never really had a problem with the comfort (except for sclera lenses). These are no exception. They're comfortable while wearing them and after wearing them for a whole day I can't feel any sign of discomfort like dryness, irritation or sensitivity.

My Opinion & Recommendation
These lenses are really fun and unique, so I think that all of the colors in this series will look vibrant and cool on any eye color. But If you're looking for a more subtle look, you should choose a color from this series that is close to your natural eye color. So in this case, I think these lenses in blue will look amazing on already blue/gray eyes. They look very pretty on my green eyes too, but I think that the brown/green in my eyes kind of takes away a bit from the charm of the colors in these lenses. The ones in green or brown might've looked even better on my eyes!

However, I think that any color in this series looks very cool on brown or black eyes because the colors stand out a bit more on dark eye colors. In the following pictures you can see some examples of what the Luxury 114 lenses look like on dark brown eyes.  First off in the picture to the left are the Luxury 114 blue which I reviewed in this post.

I found these pictures on a super random online marketplace site and don't know who the pictures originally belong to, so please let me know if you know anything about this so I can give credit.

[Review] Mediheal Secret Change Hair Color Cream #10P Ash Purple

Monday, January 23, 2017

Hello, lovelies! After previously bleaching my hair with the Mediheal Secret Change Bleach, I ended up going for a color close to my natural hair color. However, I got bored of it very quickly (I didn't even take any pictures because of how boring it was) so I thought it was time to try something new. I've wanted to go back to ash or purple for a really long time so I went to Olive Young to pick up some bleach and I saw that they also have 2 shades of Mediheal's Hair Color Cream that I hadn't seen before, one being Ash Grey and the other one being Ash Purple which I decided to try out this time.

What it contains and what you'll need:
Just like the Mediheal Hair Bleach, this hair color doesn't come with anything other than the developer (2pcs) and color cream (2pcs). You will need a (plastic) container, gloves and a brush/comb (optional). I already have all of this at home, but you can easily get it at most drugstores and beauty suppliers.

The instructions are printed on the inside of the package.

First, I used the Mediheal Secret Change Hair Bleach to get my hair to a pale blonde. I put on some plastic gloves and mixed all 4 of the contents form the bags together in the container. I applied the ash purple right after washing and drying my hair after bleaching it.

The color of the Ash purple looks pretty dark in the pictures, and because I want a pretty light color, I did a strand test first. I let the color set on the strand of hair for about 5 minutes and washed it off. It turned out a really light pink, so I thought it would be OK to let it sit a bit longer.

With my brush, I started applying it on the roots on the top of my head where I wanted the color to be a bit deeper. After letting it sit for about 10 min, I applied the rest of the mixture to the rest of my hair and let it sit for another 20 minutes, not exactly like the instructions say, but at least 30 minutes in total which is the recommended time. At this point my hair appeared to be a really dark purple, so I quickly washed it out.

This is the before and after! To my big surprise, my hair turned into a ashy/dirty pink color (it looks a darker in the pic compared to what it looked like in real life). The funny thing is that I'm actually really happy with the result even though it didn't turn out as I expected. As I'm finishing up this post, it's already been 3 days since I dyed my hair, and the pink color has faded almost completely and left me with a pretty ash blonde with a bit of dirty pink on my roots. I still really want to go for a grey or purple color, but I will keep it like this for a while and see where I go from there.

I hope you enjoyed! Thank you so much for reading and bye for now, dreamers!

[Review] Etude House Honey Cera Priming Eye Serum

Sunday, January 22, 2017

I previously made a small review on this eye cream when I reviewed the Honey Cera Lip Treatment (and some other sample products from the Honey Cera line). As I mentioned in the review, I really liked the eye cream and could't wait to get the real thing. I finally got one and I've been using it for about a month now. I can't wait to tell you more so let's get right into the review.

Disclaimer: This is not a sponsored review. I bought this cream with my own money and everything written in this post is my 100% honest opinion.

What it is
A priming Eye Serum that enhances dark circles under the eyes with its whitening function for a smooth and brightened eye area.

How to apply
After the last step of skincare, use applicator to gently apply a certain amount onto eye area and massage around eye area, softly patting to finish up.

Caution
1. Use only as directed.
2. Avoid storing in high/low temperatures or in areas exposed to direct sunlight.
3. Stop using if it causes any allergic reaction or any problems arising.

First Impression
When I first tried this cream as a sample, I was confused by the name 'eye priming serum'. Is it an eye cream or a primer? It turns our that it's actually (kind of) both! This is an eye cream that will supposedly improve your dark circles and smooth the eye area. The cream is also very light-weight and absorbs quickly into the skin, which is why I think that it's also a great product to use on your eyes before applying makeup.

Application
The application is really smooth and easy. I usually squeeze out a little bit of product onto the 'platform' and dab it onto my eye area with the applicator and then I gently spread it back and forth. The cold applicator glides easily over my eye area and it feels very cool and soothing. When I notice that the applicator gets warm (from the warmth of my skin), I finish off by gently patting the leftover product into my eye area. One thing that completely amazed me is that the applicator stays ice cold even if you keep it in a warm place. I don't know the science behind it, but the applicator is just ice cold every time I use. This is great since cold reduces swelling and puffiness.

Results
So how about the results? I have really dark circles and some fine lines around my eyes, and I've tried so many eye creams in an attempt to counter these problems but I've never found anything that helped much. However, after using this eye serum every day for a month, I can actually see that my dark circles have improved. It's not a dramatic difference, but it's definitely noticeable to me. My dark circles are not as dark as before and right after applying the serum my eye area just looks brighter and healthier. It hasn't done much for my fine lines but one thing that I noticed is that my eye area definitely looks a bit firmer and healthier! The cold applicator might have played a big part in that result.

My Recommendation
I recommend this product to those who have dark circles and are beginning to see some early signs of ageing around the eyes. In other words, if you're in your late teens or twenties but already have dark circles and some fine lines, this might be a great product for you. I'm not sure how well it will work if you have really dark circles or deep wrinkles around your eyes. In my experience, it doesn't magically make all your flaws around your eyes disappear, but if you're like me, you will definitely see an improvement.

Repurchase?
Yes, I will definitely repurchase this eye cream. I really love to use this in my morning skin care routine before applying my makeup. It's so lightweight and absorbs quickly which is why it's so great to use during that time. I also love the smell and most importantly it has actually improved the overall look of my eye area. On another note, since this cream is so lightweight I don't think it gives my eye area enough moisture during the night, so even though I love this cream I will get another eye cream to use at night.

What do you think? Do you want to try this cream? Let me know in the comments!
I hope this was helpful to you! Thank you so much for reading and bye for now, lovelies.

[Review] Geo Xtra 3 Tone WT-B74 Brown

Tuesday, January 17, 2017

Hello, dreamers! I'm back with another review. This time I'm reviewing the Geo Xtra 3 Tone WT-B74 Brown circle lenses, which were kindly sponsored by loveshoppingholics.com

Information
Origin: Korea
Diameter : 15.0mm
Water Content : 38%
Base Curve : 8.7mm
Life Span : 1 year disposal

Design & Color
These lenses have a nice and basic design but it's nothing new or special. They have this typical speckled pattern which I see a lot in Circle lenses. The color is a light brown and has kind of an olive tinge to it. They blend in really nicely with my natural eye color and makes my eyes appear to be a nice hazel brown color. They look quite natural on my eyes (as long as you don't look really close and can se the obviously speckled pattern)

Comfort
They are decently comfortable. The comfort isn't good, but nothing out of the ordinary. I don't feel any discomfort when I wear these lenses even after having them in for several hours, but I'm definitely aware of that I'm wearing lenses when I use them (if that makes sense).

What do you think of my eye makeup today? I finally found a perfect burgundy-colored eyeshadow at etude house. I love this color! Click here to check out the review I did on this eyeshadow and many others.

Enlargement
As you can see in the pictures, the enlarging effect is quite big! These lenses are 15.mm/14.8mm big so it's not really a surprise.

Overall
From my own experience and from what I've seen from other people who've tried these lenses, I think they are most suitable for those with green or hazel eyes since they simply blend in the best with those eye colors and will look more natural. They look nice on dark brown eyes too, even though it doesn't look quite as natural. All in all, I think these are a solid pair of lenses that can really enlarge your eyes and still look natural, and they're definitely subtle enough to be suitable for everyday wear (at least if you have green/brown/hazel eyes).

Beginning of a new year - Back in Seoul and a Big surprise!

Wednesday, January 11, 2017

Hello everybody! I'm finally back in Seoul and I can't believe that a week has already passed since I arrived. Time just flies because things are a bit crazy right now.

First of all, my boyfriend suddenly decided that it was time to adopt some puppies. Not 1 puppy, but 2 puppies! We picked them up on our way home from the airport. I was so surprised because I had no idea that he was planning this but I'm really happy (and overwhelmed at the same time). We got them from a breeder and because they are brothers, my boyfriend really wanted to adopt both of them so they wouldn't get split up. It's really a handful which is why I haven't had much time to myself and my blog. Here are a couple of pictures of the little ones.

If you want to see more of these sweethearts, you can check out their Instagram @cookieandfamily (which was originally Cookie's Instagram but they share that account now. Sorry, Cookie!). We're still not a 100% sure what to call them. Feel free to leave some suggestions in the comments!

Anyway! Second of all, I'm in the middle of moving. AGAIN! Before I came to Korea I had only moved 3 times in my entire life. During my almost 2 years here in Korea I've moved 4 times and this will be the 5th. That's just too crazy for me. It's really hard for me to concentrate when I'm not settled in and comfortable in the place I'm staying at, so I'm having a pretty hard time getting back on track right now. As of now, it seems like the place we are moving to will be my permanent home, so I'm really excited about that! If everything goes as planned I will move sometime next month, but I will of course do my best to keep updating my blog and work on my YouTube channel no matter what. I actually have a video and a couple of reviews coming up really soon, so stay tuned!

How's the new year been treating y'all? I'd love to hear about it in the comments! My start of the year has definitely been a bit crazy.
Thanks for reading and bye for now, dreamers!
