[Review] Mediheal Secret Change Hair Color Cream #10P Ash Purple

Monday, January 23, 2017

Hello, lovelies! After previously bleaching my hair with the Mediheal Secret Change Bleach, I ended up going for a color close to my natural hair color. However, I got bored of it very quickly (I didn't even take any pictures because of how boring it was) so I thought it was time to try something new. I've wanted to go back to ash or purple for a really long time so I went to Olive Young to pick up some bleach and I saw that they also have 2 shades of Mediheal's Hair Color Cream that I hadn't seen before, one being Ash Grey and the other one being Ash Purple which I decided to try out this time.

What it contains and what you'll need:
Just like the Mediheal Hair Bleach, this hair color doesn't come with anything other than the developer (2pcs) and color cream (2pcs). You will need a (plastic) container, gloves and a brush/comb (optional). I already have all of this at home, but you can easily get it at most drugstores and beauty suppliers.

The instructions are printed on the inside of the package.

First, I used the Mediheal Secret Change Hair Bleach to get my hair to a pale blonde. I put on some plastic gloves and mixed all 4 of the contents form the bags together in the container. I applied the ash purple right after washing and drying my hair after bleaching it.

The color of the Ash purple looks pretty dark in the pictures, and because I want a pretty light color, I did a strand test first. I let the color set on the strand of hair for about 5 minutes and washed it off. It turned out a really light pink, so I thought it would be OK to let it sit a bit longer.

With my brush, I started applying it on the roots on the top of my head where I wanted the color to be a bit deeper. After letting it sit for about 10 min, I applied the rest of the mixture to the rest of my hair and let it sit for another 20 minutes, not exactly like the instructions say, but at least 30 minutes in total which is the recommended time. At this point my hair appeared to be a really dark purple, so I quickly washed it out.

This is the before and after! To my big surprise, my hair turned into a ashy/dirty pink color (it looks a darker in the pic compared to what it looked like in real life). The funny thing is that I'm actually really happy with the result even though it didn't turn out as I expected. As I'm finishing up this post, it's already been 3 days since I dyed my hair, and the pink color has faded almost completely and left me with a pretty ash blonde with a bit of dirty pink on my roots. I still really want to go for a grey or purple color, but I will keep it like this for a while and see where I go from there.

I hope you enjoyed! Thank you so much for reading and bye for now, dreamers!
